Hair Fall In Summer

The summer can either be pleasant for you or just unbearable – depending on where you are. In most cases, summer will not be easy on your hair. You might even also notice that your hair fall has increased a bit more than usual. So follow these tips to ensure your hair has a good summer. 

Tips to reduce summer hair fall:

1. Massage with warm coconut oil

A good warm oil massage will not only make you calm and relaxed but also do wonders for your hair. It would help to reduce protein loss in both undamaged and damaged hair. You can either use it prewash or a little amount post-wash. It will also help to stimulate blood flow to the scalp and aid new hair growth. To elevate the benefits you can even try adding essential oils and use that mixture. Massage with it at least three times a week and you will see some remarkable results. It will make your hair thicker, silkier, and softer.

2. Try some Aloe vera juice

Aloe vera is known for its healing properties, it is good for skin, hair, and overall health. It can also help prevent hair loss. Drinking aloe vera juice can strengthen your hair from within. If you do not want to drink it, you can even apply it to your hair as a mask. This will condition your hair and reverse hair damage. It can also help fight dandruff.

3. Avoid heat styling

Heat styling has more drawbacks than benefits. It is best to keep it to a minimum. or avoid completely if possible. Regular heat styling can cause breakage and thinning. If you do have to use it, always use a heat-protecting misting spray before applying heat.

4. Improve your diet

One of the most overlooked aspects of haircare – diet. Your diet plays an essential role in deciding your hair health and growth. Your diet should be abundant with nutrients like vitamin C, D, zinc, iron, biotin, omega-3s & 6s. They will play a major role in how good your hair looks. Also try to include more nuts (almonds, walnuts) and fresh fruits and vegetables. And LOTS of water! Lack of water can make your hair brittle and prone to breakage so try to consume at least 2.5 litres of water every day. 

5. Deep Conditioning

Many natural ingredients reduce hair loss. All you need to do is mix some of them and make a love potion for your hair. You can deep condition your hair using these treatments and encourage new hair growth. You can try different hair masks for this such as: 

Egg mask

Honey and olive oil mask

Lemon and curd mask, etc.

Or, you can even combine a few options as per your needs.

A few tips to prevent hair fall in summer.

  • Make sure to protect your scalp from dust and sweat because that can aggravate dandruff.
  • Air-dry your hair before tying it up.
  • Keep your scalp clean and dry.
  • Shampoo three times a week with a sulfate-free, paraben-free product.
  • Do yoga and work out regularly to increase blood flow to your scalp.
  • Try to avoid air conditioning as it tends to dry out your hair and scalp.
